The Rise of Solar Energy

8 Aug. 2011 Posted by Hannah Mich
solar energy, renewable energy, nuclear energy

The earthquakes and tsunami that destroyed parts of Japan and crippled its nuclear plants may be a huge turning point for the use of nuclear power. Because of the dangers of nuclear power, is solar energy the answer or part of the answer to Japan's future energy needs? Will this create a new interest in solar energy not only in Japan but in other countries, especially those who rely heavily on nuclear energy? Most turning points in history are brought on by catastrophes such as the one being experienced over in Japan.

"Most turning points in history are brought on by catastrophes..."
.. and Japan's decisions about their future energy sources will likely have a ripple effect throughout the rest of world.
